ValvTechnologies and DFT Ink Exclusive Nuclear Partnership Oct 28, 2009

HOUSTON, Texas - ValvTechnologies nuclear achievements continue to mount.  Discussions recently concluded with DFT, Inc. of Exton, Pennsylvania, a leading manufacturer of Non-slam In-line Check Valves, signing an exclusive nuclear partnership with ValvTechnologies.  This unique partnership enables ValvTechnologies to provide a full range of severe service isolation, control and check valve application solutions to the existing nuclear fleet and the new build efforts gathering momentum in the United States and abroad.  The territory includes all North American nuclear operating facilities as well as US Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS) and Canadian CANDU designed plants worldwide.

ValvTechnologies now has access to sections of NSSS new build valve specifications where check valves are required and can also supply these valves to applications in the existing fleet.  This agreement places ValvTechnologies squarely among the full service elite providers of high-energy valves in the industry.  ValvTechnologies will implement its nuclear programs and procedures to provide DFT products to the industry, for ASME Section III Class 1, 2 & 3 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B for Safety Related applications as ValvTechnologies products.  Additionally ValvTechnologies will act as the exclusive non-stocking distribution arm for DFT’s nuclear commercial applications.

DFT produces a full line of in-line check valves, designed to prevent water hammer.  They are also targeted for steam lines, cooling towers, vacuum systems, and pump and compressor discharge applications. The products are sized to open at a 0.5 psi differential pressure and are fully open at 1.0 psi differential pressure.  They meet or exceed MSS SP-61 leakage requirements and are produced in sizes ranging from ¼ through 24 inch, ASME / ANSI Pressure Class 125 to 2500, materials CS, SS and other alloys, and are available in all end connections pertinent to the power industry.

ValvTechnologies, headquartered in Houston, Texas, has been in business since 1987 and employs nearly 485 employees worldwide.  Corporate offices are located in the United Kingdom, Mainland Europe, China, the Middle East and South America.  Manufacturer representatives can be found worldwide.  To find out more about the products or services offered or to locate a representative, visit www.valv.com.
