HOUSTON, Texas - MCE International, a subsidiary of ValvTechnologies, Inc., has recently been awarded a prestigious project to design a power plant in Delta State, Nigeria. The government of Delta State is building a new independent Simple Cycle Gas Turbine (SCGT) power plant at Oghareki that is expected, upon completion, to provide uninterrupted power to the state.
Steve Doughty, Director MCE International, met with Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the governor of Delta State, earlier this month to secure the project. The Delta Electric Power Ltd Independent Power Plant, Oghareki is an important part of the Governor’s quest to improve the power supply to the state which has been a significant problem and at times, rationed. In conjunction with PSL Engineering and Controls in Nigeria, MCE will be involved in the conceptual and detailed design of all aspects of the project. MCE will also be integral to the training of the local engineers, which will begin soon. The work is estimated to be around $4 million and scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.
