ValvTechnologies Continues to Offer SIL 2 and 3 Certifications on V Series, ERV, NexTech®, TrunTech® Product Lines

HOUSTON, TX – ValvTechnologies, the leading manufacturer of zero-leakage, severe service isolation valve solutions, announced today that it has renewed its SIL 2 and 3 (Safety Integrity Level) capability safety certification as of July 17, 2018 for its V Series, ERV, NexTech® and TrunTech® product lines.

As a responsible manufacturer of severe service valves since 1987, ValvTechnologies has been recognized for its accountability for the safety, reliability and integrity of its products. As energy industry processes become more complex and demanding, built-in safety features and stringent testing is fundamental. The SIL certification is a confirmation of the safety and reliability of the ValvTechnologies’ product.

SIL represents the potential risk that arises from people, systems and processes, and the benchmark for the required safety of the system, depending on the danger. A SIL is determined via a Risk/Process Hazard Analysis procedure. This process identifies the process hazards and accesses the inherent risks involved to determine what risks are tolerable. This safety procedure verifies that each instrument in the system works together safety to comply with SIL requirements.

Dependable Industrial Automation Consultancy USA, LLC, an accredited product certification body, has completed their extensive audit and evaluation of ValvTechnologies’ products and has, once again, issued the SIL 3 certification. The SIL certification identifies all process hazards, estimates the risk of failure and determines if a failure occurs, that the product will “fail safely.” Every component in the instrument was examined and verified in light of this critical criteria in order to comply with the SIL constraints.

“The SIL 3 certification provides our customers with the peace of mind that our valves offer significant risk reduction required to achieve safety for their people, plants and equipment,” said Keith Whittaker, ValvTechnologies’ Global Director of Quality.
